Finishing the year with a bang　　一年の締めくくりを華々しく！

2008 is almost over.  I want to finish it with a bang. I’ll be doing flyers every week and holding 2 events before we start the Smith’s Christmas Holiday on December 21st. I hope to get several new students before the end of the year. In addition to that I and my wife will be deciding when to start the reform work on our first real estate investment property.  

So far in November, I’ve gotten 2 new students. I got one student in an amazing way. He had a trial lesson at Smith’s School of English Kotoen School, then went to Smith’s School of English Kyobashi School, and in the end decided to join my school, Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi School! Wow! I thank both of those schools for their help! The other student found Smith’s via the Internet, had a trial lesson with me at my school and joined.

This week a man showed up at my school without an appointment. I gave him a Smith’s brochure and asked him to call the Smith’s head office to book a trial lesson with me. In English, I told him that I was the teacher. He answered me in English, mentioning that he knew who I was, having seen me at the station (doing flyers)! I’ll be giving him a trial lesson next week. Great!

My next school’s event will be a Japanese Maple leaf color change viewing event in Kyoto on November 30th. Smith’s Okamoto School is joining too. It should be a lot of fun!

＜一年の締めくくりを華々しく！＞　　２００８年１１月２３日（日）

２００８年も、もうあとわずかです。　今年も成功のうちに終えたいものです。　スミス英会話のクリスマス休暇が始まる１２月２１日までに、私は２つのイベントと毎週のビラ配りをしようと思っています。　年内に新しい生徒さんが何人か来てくれたらと願っています。　それに私と妻で始めた不動産投資の、初めての物件のリフォームもしようと思っています。
この１１月には今のところ２人の生徒さんが入学してくれました。　そのうちの１人の生徒さんは実に面白い経過をたどって私のところへ来てくれました。　と言うのも、その生徒さんはスミス英会話の甲東園校で体験レッスンを受け、それから京橋本校に行き、最終的には我が塚口校に入学してくれました。　スゴイでしょう！　私は甲東園校と京橋本校に感謝しています。　もう１人の生徒さんはインターネットでスミス英会話のホームページを見つけて、そして我が校で体験レッスンを受けてくれました。　私は明日もまた違う生徒さんの体験レッスンを予定しています。　その生徒さんも入学してくれたらいいなと思っています。
今週、１人の男性が予約なしに私の学校へ来ました。　私は彼にスミス英会話のパンフレットを渡し、本部に電話で体験レッスンの申し込みをしてくれるよう頼みました。　そのとき私が塚口校の講師だと言うことを英語で言うと、彼もまた英語でそのことは知っていると答えてくれました。　なんと彼は私が駅でビラを配っているのを見かけていたのです。　やった～！
我が塚口校の次のイベントは京都の紅葉を楽しむことにしています。　１１月３０日にスミス英会話の岡本校と一緒に行きたいと思っています。　きっと楽しいイベントになるでしょう！
