Using these japaneses Lilies, Lilium maculatumスカシユリ to decorate our English Conversation School in Fuse, Higashi Osaka!

You are here: Home / Blog / Using these japaneses Lilies, Lilium maculatumスカシユリ to decorate our English Conversation School in Fuse, Higashi Osaka!

Last week, I found these beautiful Lilies, called lilium maculatum スガシユリ at the friendly flower shop where I normally get the flowers to decorate the Smith`s school of Englishスミス英会話 here in Fuse, Higashi-Osaka東大阪布施. This Lily is a native Japanese beauty. The flowers are quite large with a diameter of more than 10cm. One Conversation student英会話生徒 who knows a lot about flowers, told me that the first Europeans coming to Japan were so fond of these  Japanese Lilies that they brought them back home and crossbred them with European Lilies, creating ever more fascinating flowers.

As for the lilium maculatumスカシユリ, it is an original Japanese flower. So most of the Conversation students last week knew the Japanese name. Some, like the student I mentioned above, could tell me some interesting details about the plant. As often, the flowers have proven to be a natural stimulant to start an English Conversation 英会話 with the students even before the actual lesson has started. So I plan to continue decorating the reception room of our school in Fuse, Higashi Osaka東大阪布施 with beautiful flowers.

As it is a native Japanese flower, the English Wikipedia page pretty much only gives the name. On the other hand, the Japanese Wikipedia page provides some more details.
