Over the last couple of months friends and family have often said to me that I look much more relaxed and healthy (some even say younger) than I did before. Strange? I can only imagine that it must be a result of my recent change of career, from being a semi-retired part time English teacher to being a Smith’s School of English スミス英会話 franchise owner. After being a part timer, at the whim of a school owner, I am now the proud owner and teacher of Smith’s School of English, Kawanishi スミス英会話 川西.
Building up and running this school is not an easy job; starting early in the morning handing out flyers at the local train stations, then teaching well into the evening, as well as filling in the gaps working on the internet, takes a lot of energy, but it’s for my benefit, not for an owner that I don’t even now. I also feel differently toward my students; they have become friends and important people in my life, not just bodies in a classroom. And being with them gives me energy and a sense of enjoyment as well as achievement.
It really works. Since I took over the school in March this year I have taken on 8 new students, and they are all as great as those that I took over with the school.
I have worked many, many years, mostly in accounting and business, then more recently teaching English in Japan, but I can honestly say I can’t remember having such a level of job satisfaction.
The SSE system really works. I admit that I had some doubts before I committed myself to buying my school; but meeting Mark Smith and reading this Soapbox convinced me. All I can say is: “No Regrets”. Thanks to the support of Mark and the other franchise owners my school is growing faster than I could have dreamed.
