A stone’s throw from Hankyu Nagaoka-Tenjin Station, WineBar TeRRA is a great spot for a casual bite and/or glass of wine. If you ride the Hankyu through Nagaokakyo, you can’t miss the red sign and storefront at the north end of the station, on the east side of the tracks.
SSE Nagaokakyo held a wine & dine event here a couple of Sundays past and the reviews were unanimous: great food and drink at very reasonable prices, all served up in friendly, laid-back atmosphere. I’ll go one further: some of the food is the best value (quality/price) I’ve seen in this country. Such ordinary fare as the tomato/mozzarella/basil salad and spanish omelette are perfectly mouth-watering and not to be missed!
The convivial proprietor, Iwaki-san (look for the flat hat), is always happy to pull up a seat. There’s a range of party options on the menu and he’ll happily oblige most requests. Be warned: when you see the bill, you’ll ask yourself why you go to the trouble of cooking at home….
