World’s Best Food Ingredients

You are here: Home / Blog / World’s Best Food Ingredients

My wife Yoko is a hobby patissièrre so the quality of every single thing that goes into her creations is critical.  She really appreciates the world’s best food ingredients available in Japan.  In our areaWorld's Best Food Ingredients, there are several great import food stores and exceptional grocers promoting fresh local produce.   They rival some of the best available anywhere.

One of her favorite local produce stores specializes in fruits and vegetables organically grown right here in Hyogo Prefecture.  The prices are reasonable and the staff are gracious, too!

Her Work With World’s Best Food Ingredients

Yoko rolls all her own scratch natural cookie and pie crusts from these world’s best food ingredients and the amount of sugar used is generally less than 40% of a typical standard recipe.  In addition, sugar can only be cane mollases, honey, fruit extract or maple syrup.  No amount of processed ingredient nor preservative is permitted.  Colorings and artificial flavorings are also forbidden.

World's Best Food IngredientsThe important point is that such amazing ingredients are available in good quantity at fair prices and there is no reason to compromise.  Students at my English Conversation School know it well and have been following her efforts with enthusiasm, especially on facebook.

The cakes in the photos were made up of three cookie crust layers.  All were hand leavened many times and adorned with mangoes, strawberries, white peaches, whole dairy cream and custard.  Ingredients were produced domestically, mostly by artisans businesses with a love for their crafts.

The things she makes are truly wonderful and I can consider myself very fortunate to eat these!  Apart from these posts, I wonder how else to share!
