So far this has been quite an interesting year at my English conversation school(英会話スクール), Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi(スミス英会話塚口校) , located in Tsukaguchi(塚口), Amagasaki City(尼崎市), Hyogo Prefecture(兵庫県), Japan. I believe that with the global economic slowdown, Japanese people are not spending money as much as before, afraid that they may lose their jobs. That is understandable. However, to maintain a comfortable, happy life here in Japan to support my family and myself, I need to keep my English conversation school in Japan going strong. That means having a regular inflow of new students and keeping existing students as long as possible by giving them good lessons in a warm, caring environment.
Facing a slowdown in the inflow of new students this year, I was left with 2 choices: do nothing and watch Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi continue to decrease in size and hope that somehow things would get better eventually, or do something about it. I decided to do something about it. The going got tough, so I got going. It’s a good thing that I did, because I managed to turn things around! October was my school’s best month ever in regards to new student signups, and November is going very well so far. I am very happy with the result of my effort. I thank Smith’s Head Office, my wife, Smith’s franchisees and students for their support and/or help, and my new students for joining! The future of Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi and my job teaching English in Japan are looking brighter!
If the going gets tough for you, I highly recommend getting going! It worked for me! (^.^)
