Since I began coaching English conversation at Smith’s Katsura(スミス英会話 桂) I couldn’t stop thinking how to make our classroom look better. I want my students to feel most comfortable and think about the school as a place to have a good time while learning English. I want students to know that this place is here for them.
That’s why I’ve decided to create a big collection of students’ travel photos on the classroom wall. Because one thing we often talk about is traveling. The English conversation sometimes starts by one student asking another: “I know you visited Peru. I think Peru is very interesting, but I don’t have time to travel there. Could you tell me about the country?” Or the other time one student made this question: “My wife and I are thinking to go to San Francisco. Is it a good place to visit?” The questions are always different but the answers are always the same – very interesting. Students are happy to share their experiences or find something new about foreign countries. It’s a good way to practice English conversation skills.
If you’d like to see our collection, you can visit us at Smith’s School of English Katsura(桂) and see for yourself. We have photos from all around the world. Let’s share more travel stories!
