Change. It happens day by day, hour by hour. I sometimes wonder just what the world will be like when my son grows up and how he’ll be able to compete in the world of tomorrow. It’s hard to keep up with all the technological advances being made and to keep ourselves relevant but I believe that there are some tools that will serve anyone well for many years to come.
1. Computer skills (word and excel are the bare minimum)
2. Language skills (English first and a distant second, Chinese. As well as the language of the country you choose to reside in)
3. Financial skills (To prepare for both the good times and the bad)
4. NLP skills (mastering our own mind is the ultimate challenge)
5. Physical skills (health allows us to contribute more and live longer)
I have been constantly working on items 1-4 for the past few years but I have put off #5 as I chose to focus on the business side of Smith’s Hirakata. However from July I believe I will be able to organize myself some time to start up rock climbing again. If anyone wants to join me let me know…a little company’s always good.

Hi Adrian,
The desire for self improvement is something that I believe lies within all of us. The skills that you have mentioned above are without doubt tools that will help you grow as an individual as well as the community which surrounds you. At the end of the day, it’s all about learning. It sounds like you have been learning quite a lot over these last few years…It’s a good thing.
I may have to take you up on the rock climbing sometime this summer. It’s something I haven’t tried in quite some time. I may need to hit up the local playground and give the monkey bars a crack before I head out though. I myself am lacking in the physical skills department as of late…
Michael
Michael…yeah I know what you mean about lacking in the physical skills department hence I must get back to rock climbing. I’m planning to start on July 6th if you’re interested just let me know.
Adrian
Thanks. I checked out the link you have listed in the post. The facility looks great! I’m hoping near the end of July or August I can make it out at least once. I’ll be sure to get back to you when the time comes around. Good luck climbing!
Michael
