Last month, a student at Smith’s School of English Katsura(スミス英会話 桂) took a TOEIC test. Soichi wanted a score of 700, but in the end he got much better result.
Well done Soichi, your hard work paid off! I’m very proud and happy to share your words.
Six months after I joined Smith’s Katsura, I wanted to know how much progress I made with my English. So I decided to take a TOEIC test. Actually I took it on November 17th.
I felt the test was very difficult, especially listening section, because I took TOEIC test after a long time. Some days ago I got the result, which was more than I expected and it made me so happy.
I realized that what I studied at Smith’s and what I did by myself at home was quite effective way to get such a high score.
Whenever I come to Smith’s Katsura, I enjoy an interesting English conversation with my teacher and sometimes with other students. It helps me to enrich my vocabulary. Besides, as my home study, I use “CNN English Express”. Monthly CNN magazine with listening CD. Although I can’t understand the whole news in the magazine, it gives me new words and interesting stories.
I want to learn to speak English more fluently so the TOEIC score isn’t the end. But it’s a great motivation to keep studying. Thanks to this test, I now have a new target and to achieve it I’ll study harder.
One challenge leads you to a new world, so why don’t you try something new too?
