The other day I had a late lesson with three students. They were all working for companies. One is a company director, one is a new employee for a major electronics and one works for a top-rated sports shoe manufacturer. We did a phrase lesson and covered some new vocabulary. But the best part of the lesson was the spontaneous conversations that they had with each other to discuss their own jobs and businesses. It just made me stop and realize that Japanese students can use English to discuss topics that they might not even talk about in Japanese. It was very spontaneous and they really enjoyed that lesson. Me too!
