Things Happen for a Reason

You are here: Home / Blog / Things Happen for a Reason

I recently had the misfortune to have to spend eight days in the hospital. It was a first for me here in Japan, and hopefully the last. But I am a believer that there is a reason for everything, and as I thought about the experience over the past week or so I realize I have so much to be thankful for.  I am thankful for the doctors and hard-working nurses of Japan. I am thankful for medical technology, my family and friends who were there for me at the drop of a hat. I am thankful for all the thoughtful emails from my students. And I can’t thank the Smith’s Staff at Kyobashi Head Office enough. I called them from my hospital bed on a Monday afternoon and they reacted quickly. What a headache for them to have to contact most of my students (I was able to stay open Friday night and Saturday thanks to Mark Presley, my part time teacher). It sure is reassuring to know that I have such outstanding and professional support from them. So I say thank you from the bottom of my heart to all that helped me get through a trying time. Be well everyone.

Jim, I am sorry to hear from your soapbox posting that you have been in hospital for 8 days. I trust that everything is now ok. When Roger from SSE Asagaya spent 5 or 6 days in hospital sometime ago. with the help of HO and some re-scheduling in Ogikubo and Koenji schools, Dean and I were able to cover Roger’s lessons. TEAM Smith is without doubt the best backup insurance available. Best wishes for your continued recovery.
