The secret to improving your English conversation even more

You are here: Home / Blog / The secret to improving your English conversation even more

Hello everyone! This is AYAKO from Smith‘a School of English, Koenji branch. Today, I would like to share an important factor for improving your English conversation.

Smith’s School of English, Koenji branch student preparing for a performance.

At our Smith’s School of English, Koenji branch, what I often say is “Don’t be too conscious about grammatical mistakes and focus on perfection!” Of course, we are an English conversation school, so we help correct your mistakes!

However, think about this. when we talk in Japanese, how many people actually use the correct grammar? Most people have daily conversations without worrying about the order of the subject, object, and verb. Don’t you speak sentences without using the subject in your daily conversations?

When you go out of Japan, not only in English-speaking countries, you cannot continue to only have one-way conversations by answering only what you hear and what you are asked, like in Japanese school habits. When you’re overseas, it is important to be bold in your conversations and to be more outgoing. It’s important to have the ability to speak openly without fear of making mistakes!

At Smith’s School of English, Koenji branch, we don’t just teach English, we also focus on building up your confidence as well. In Japan, modesty is a virtue, but overseas, it is important to assert yourself. We advise our students, who negotiate in the business world and who give speeches at international conferences, to be confident and to speak up.

Helping a Smith’s School of English Koenji branch student prepare for an upcoming international presentation in English.

If you want to be able to speak English with confidence, please come to Smith’s School of English, Koenji Branch. We will help you to get around the world with more confidence!

We look forward to meeting you!
