Yesterday we attended the conference for franchise owners. We are still relatively new here at Smith’s Kamishinjo, so it’s nice to attend the conferences and meet some other franchisees. Yuichi and I have been reading everyone’s Soapbox posts and have been inspired and impressed by how well everyone is doing. After having a chance to speak with some of you in person, we are even more impressed. Everyone is so dedicated and hard working. We have been looking for ideas in our own school and it’s been really nice to see what other schools are doing. We have even taken some of your Soapbox ideas and used them with our own students with great success. Our students have really enjoyed using Mark Smith’s version of, “The Japan Sea.” They expressed enjoyment not only in using a real life variation, but also in learning a little about the person behind Smith’s. So, thank you all for being so willing to share your knowledge and ideas.

Dear Carol and Yuichi,
You are most welcome! Sharing knowledge and ideas is part of what being part of the Smith’s franchise system is all about. We are all on the same team and there to support each other.
Take care,

Yep, all the seminars are well worth going to in so many ways…And that is just a part of it…After having taught in other schools in Japan, I KNOW that we are the luckiest teachers in Japan. It doesn’t get any better…Good luck to you…

Hi Carol,
Good to read your article from a few days ago. It was nice to meet you and wishing you the best of success and happiness in your Smith’s ownership. I sure love my school. It gave me a great sense of liberation. I hope you get the same feeling. You can e-mail me anytime if you have any questions or just read my comments in the Ikoma Corner.
Have fun!
