Al Bartle - Smith’s School of English – Okamoto
Last week John of the Kawanishi school and I (Okamoto School) helped each other to distribute flyers. Though we started at 7:30 a.m. the time went so fast as we enjoyed chatting during the time. The funny thing is that I think just our talking while we worked made us more interesting to those passing by. We easily passed out 500 flyers despite the cold. So here is the point: teamwork works! So, get out there and enjoy the morning!
Smith’s Schools of English offer more for our students. We, as school owners, understand the importance of helping our students achieve their goals. We are not just putting in our time, or passing it to collect our salary. We are not just moving through some dry material page by page. We are always thinking how to improve the lesson for our students, how to really take them to the level of ability they are striving for. We have a curriculum that allows for augmentation and improvisation. We are always striving to find a way to open the door wider so that our students can walk through it and into a new world where they can really use the English that they have learned. The teacher and students must also be a team! And this kind of teamwork works too!
The bottom line is that we care, and care is what students really need from a teacher. They don’t need to see posters at the station or on the corners of buildings or on the train, they don’t need to see an expensive commercial on TV suggesting that the money wasted on it somehow makes that school a better place to study. It all comes down to the teacher. Is he good? Does he care about whether or not you learn English or reach your highest level of ability? Or is he just putting in his time. That is and has always been the bottom line for students. Smith’s School of English cares! We have a real vested interested in the success of our students. So try us! Tell your friends. Don’t waste your time or money going elsewhere.
The Smith’s team is ready to take our students to the highest level they can achieve. Let’s get going!

There’s no way I could have put it better myself. For me, one of the greatest benefits of being a member of the Smith’s Scool of English franchise system is the availability of experienced franchisees to learn from and to share my experiances with. I really enjoyed distributing flyers with you last week both at Okamoto and Kawanishi. The results we achieved at both locations, getting out 500 flyers in less than 2 hours, really felt like an achievement for us. I’m looking forward to doing it again next week. Let’s pray for good weather.
