SYTYCD

You are here: Home / Blog / SYTYCD

My favorite show on TV has to be “So You Think You Can Dance.” It started 6 years ago as a competition to determine America’s favorite (not best) dancer. Now it has expanded to Australia, Canada, Holland and Britain. While American Idol may get all the headlines I personally admire dancers more than singers. Dancing is an incredibly tough field. It’s basically Billy’s Boot Camp set to music and they have to worry about timing, injuries, and missteps. Dancers on SYTYCD are asked to perform various dance styles from ballroom to contemporary to krump (if you have never heard of it just click the link). Here in Japan it is on Fox and some of my students at Smith’s 英会話 Hirakata tell me how much they enjoy it so I thought I’d share some of my favorite moments here. Enjoy the links.

Contemporary, Hip Hop, Mambo, Samba, Bollywood, Contempory, Paso Doble, Hip Hop. I’ll post more later.

Adrian
