Smith’s School of English Kotoen and Smith’s School of English Fukushima Get Together
Yes, it is true, this photo shows two senior men enjoying a coffee at Kansai Yacht Club however it shows a lot more than that too. In this photo you see more than 35 years of English Conversation Coaching experience here in Japan. We see two guys who love teaching English and love Japan. Both of these men are married to Japanese wives. Both of these men are equity holders in the Smith’s School of English organization. Both have been friends for a very long time.
It’s almost a little scary to admit just how long Martin and Mark have been working together but it is fair to say when Smith’s School of English began in 1996 Mark and Martin were there. I imagine it is also fair to say that in this photo you see two of the most mature English Language Coaches in Japan today. While it is true both Martin and Mark are active shareholders in the Smith’s School of English Organization it is also true they they are both actively involved in Coaching Communicative Confidence in the English language as well. Today Martin is involved in teaching English at Smith’s School of English Kotoen and Mark is involved in supporting the teaching at Fukushima school.
In this photo we see that both men have the wind in their hair and they seem far from their classrooms and that is because as mentioned this photo was taken at Shin Nishinomiya Yacht Club where Mark and Martin met for a coffee and chat. For many years now Martin and Mark are sure to get together and have these regular chats. Subjects of conversation usually involve their work and their play.
When Martin is not either teaching English or spending time with his wife he enjoys Astronomy, Music systems, and is an expert on anything to do with Fireworks festivals in Japan. Mark by comparison when not with his family or at work may usually be found in one yacht race or another.
Whether Martin or Mark are at work, with their families or following their private interests some things remain common at all times. They both love Japan, love teaching English and love working with Smith’s School of English. Of course health and family are the greatest rewards we can be offered in life. Health for our loved ones, health for our friends and health for ourselves. Next, after health and family say these two men, is friendship.
