When my regular weekday student showed up on a Saturday afternoon at Kyobashi school, I hardly recognized him. Apart from the thick black overcoat, his whole outfit changed from total business to absolute casual! We’d only seen him in his formal business attire since he usually came here right after work, so it was nice to see another side of the hardworking businessman we’d all gotten used to.
We started our conversation about his fashion choice of the day, naturally, and was I glad! He was wearing a pair of brown leather shoes which looked great, when I complimented on them, he smiled and told me that it was very hard for him to find comfortable casual leather shoes in the city because of the lack of big sizes, but he found this fantastic outlet shopping mall near the airport and Timberland there had a nice selection of big size shoes! I couldn’t stop telling him how happy I was to have this piece of information because I’d had so much trouble finding shoes for my husband! He was a bit surprised to see my reaction but totally understood my frustration. Just before we started our class, he took the trouble to write down the address of the outlet mall, the directions from Tennoji as well as a few shops there that he recommended.
Thanks to my student, now I can be relieved the pain of looking for things that are decent, non-overpriced, and big enough for my husband!
