Repeating Lessons: Learning English Hints

You are here: Home / English School Articles / Repeating Lessons: Learning English Hints

Here is an easy to do learning hint on repeating lessons at your English conversation school. It will help you to get more out of your lessons without putting in too much effort. Repeating lessons is the most easy and most effective way to help you remember the English you have learned in your last English conversation lesson. So, when and how do you best repeat lessons?

When to do it

I believe that the best time to repeat your English lesson is when you start forgetting it. So the memory is starting to fade but with effort, you can still remember it. This will be at a different time for every person, but I recommend to repeat this lesson the day after the lesson. By repeating at that time, your brain will know: “Oh, this is important information. I have to remember it longer!” You should then be able to hold on to the memory until your next weeks lesson.

How to repeat lessons

The best way to remember things longer is by using this specific memory. So take about 30 minutes to repeat the lesson. Put your note book next to you, but do not open it yet. Instead, take a white sheet of paper and a pen. Then think of your lesson the day before: when did you get into the classroom? What was the lesson about? Write down all the English that you remember you have learned in that lesson. You will see that you can remember more than you first imagined. When you are finished, open your note book and compare. What did you remember well? What did you not remember? Which words did you spell wrong? You can continue and write the mistakes correctly a couple of times if you want. But basically, you have finished repeating the lesson. Good job!
