Positive Energy

You are here: Home / Blog / Positive Energy

While chatting with some students the other day, we discussed some of the good points we have happily discovered during this stay-at-home time. These are a few of the positive things we have noticed.

Making Connections

Everyone agreed this was the #1 positive side effect of the pandemic. All of us are enjoying more time connecting with family and friends, at home and online. For full time workers suddenly asked to work from home, getting to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at home is a joy. For others, re-connecting with old friends online is a precious gift.

Doing Projects

Another shared pleasure has been having the time to devote to all those side projects we have been wanting to do for years. Students told me about various fun projects they are doing now: sewing dresses, turning attic space into a usable room, going through old travel photos and making albums, reorganizing bookshelves. One student said his project is losing 3kg by dieting and exercising every day!

English Studying

Most students also said they are taking this extra time to study English at home. Many students are enjoying watching English dramas, singing English songs, reading English books or just plain old textbook studying. We look forward to seeing the results when classes resume after Golden Week holiday!

How about me?

I love hiking and I love photography, so I have been enjoying daily walks around my neighborhood, taking photos of all the great spring colors. I do not have a garden, but my neighbors are happy to share theirs with all of us!
