It was a long winter this year. For most people it was something to complain about, but for me the Osaka climate is perfect. It’s really just one long fall that turns into spring! Japanese people pride themselves on having four seasons, but I think Osaka has no winter. Still, by Osaka standards, it was a cold one. For me, it was perfect. The temperature never gets really cold. Even the coldest days are great for hiking or going for long walks or runs. I’m kind of sad it’s over already!
But spring is in the air. Slowly it’s beginning to warm up and you can almost feel the world waking up. Spring flowers are out and soon, cherry blossoms will be in full bloom . I love Cherry blossom season. Cherry blossom viewing and picnics are one of my favourite Japanese traditions. They signify spring and a time of new beginnings. Two of my favourite things to do are hiking and going on picnics and nothing beets a picnic or hike under cherry blossom trees!
