Last month I had a very nice lunch with some ladies who are English students from my Smith’s School of English in Sakai Higashi(スミス英会話 堺東校 （月謝). Five students, my wife and my son all enjoyed a great Sunday lunch at Lo Scalo, an Italian restaurant only minutes walk from my English conversation school(スミス英会話 月謝). It is the second time that some of those students and I have eaten lunch at this Restaurant. I love to relax outside of the classroom with my students. Although I try as much as possible to teach natural English in all of my English conversation lessons, there is nothing quite like stepping outside of the classroom and speaking in a natural environment. After all, I believe this ability is what most of my students strive for. Congratulations to these students for have the confidence and kindness to have lunch with my family and me! These events really make me enjoy teaching English in Japan.
There are some great international restaurants in the Sakai Higashi area. Recently, I have eaten very good Indian, Thai and of course Italian food in the area. My English conversation school(スミス英会話 月謝) is very close to the Sakai City, city hall(堺市堺区役所). Each year the city holds an international festival in October. Many of the local international restaurants are there selling their delicious foods. You can read more about the festival here .
Sakai Higashi Smith’s School of English is located about five minutes walk from the Sakai Higashi Nankai Station(南海堺東駅).
