I started up Smith School Of English in Ikoma about five years ago, but yesterday was the first time I went to a local park for a BBQ picnic. It was great! There were several other families in the same area having their picnics for the holiday too.
I was surprised by how convenient it was for us. All we needed to bring was the food. We rented the BBQ and bought the charcoal there. I have lots of experience making fires with coal, so I found this a snap. Other holiday goers were using blow torches to start their fires, which I though was an amusing solution to the problem of starting the fire.
Two trays of meat, and two trays of chicken later, we were sitting there stuffed and happy. Then we thought we might take a look around. My wife walked down one of the paths in the forest and found tents and cabins that you can also rent quite cheaply, and they offered more privacy too. We decided that this would be the first of many such BBQ’s and in the future we are going to scale up to the cabins, that even have air conditioning (what a luxury!).
Thanks Mark, for helping me set up my own English school and business away from the beaten path, and a bit closer to the woods and mountains that I love!
