INPICA – International Peoples Carnival

You are here: Home / Blog / INPICA – International Peoples Carnival

I recently attended the 2008 INPICA – International Peoples Carnival in Sakai City in the southern part of Osaka. This carnival has been happening every October for 15 years and it is the third year Smith Sakai Higashi has attended. It is a celebration of International Culture incorporating food, clothing, entertainment and crafts from many different countries throughout the world. This year the carnival was located in Sakai Higashi at the city hall. As this is very close to Smith’s Eikawa Sakai Higashi School it was a great opportunity to invite Smith’s students to come and join in the fun.

As October is the month of Halloween, I was lucky enough to perform on stage with some children students some Halloween songs. The crowd went wild as the kids performed in the spooky scary costumes. Thank you to the all the Smith Students who came along and enjoyed themselves. Let’s do it again next year. C’mon 2009 INPICA!!!

    Adam,

This was a great activity for your students to participate in. Do you know where the carnival will be held next year? Maybe we can all benefit by taking some of our students also.

    Thanks,
    Al (SSE Okamoto)
