In June 2007 a woman who is a research worker at a pharmaceudical company joined Tsukaguchi School. She was going to have to give a presentation in English to a visiting guest at her company on July 2nd. She chose the Man to Man Course http://www.smithweb.co.jp/manto.shtml . She said that she had already written the presentation and wanted me to check her pronunciation the lessons she would take in June. We went over her presentation together. I had her listen and repeat it after me, correcting her pronunciation. After she gave the presentation she told me that the foreigner had understood her well however she couldn’t understand the questions the foreigner asked her after her presentation very well. I am happy that I was able to help her with her pronunciation and to communicate with foreigners and want to help her improve her listening so that she can better understand and answer questions in English in the future when she meets foreigners. I have started to teach her using the Smith’s curriculum which should help her do just that!
