Healthy Body = Healthy Mind

You are here: Home / Blog / Healthy Body = Healthy Mind

My wedding day is just around the corner!

Since I started looking for a perfect wedding dress for my big day, I have been very conscious about my body shape. Last November, I tried on two dresses which fit me perfectly but the following month, the same dresses felt very tight. Probably, I ate too many pieces of rice cake during the New Year holidays.

So, I decided to go on a diet this year.

About a year ago, I started going to the gym “Otsu Itoman Sports Club 大津イトマンスポーツクラブ” near Smith’s School of English Otsu but I sometimes felt lazy and often failed to go there. However, with this new goal of losing weight in mind, I decided to go there 2 or 3 times a week. Right now, on Tuesdays, I do Yoga. On Wednesdays, I do Jazz Dance. On Fridays, I do aerobics. Also, I try to do Yoga for 5 to 15 minutes before going to bed. With my great effort, I lost 2 kilograms in two months!

I had never thought that I could be good at dancing or doing yoga because I always received bad grades in PE classes during my school years.  However, doing exercise regularly at the gym made me realize that I was capable of becoming fit enough to do exercises and dance well! It is great that I am more confident and feel good about not only my body (skinnier!) but also my soul (more positive!).

Dancing, doing aerobics, and doing Yoga surely develop many different muscles and make your body stronger. At the same time, they let you focus on your body movements and breathing, which takes your minds off your concerns and worries.

Sometimes, I feel like not going to the gym but I know that It is very important for me to keep going back there regularly to maintain both dancing skills and musculature. It is just like going to an English conversation school regularly. So I would like to set a S.T.A.G. (short term achievable goal):

“I will go to the gym at least twice a week this week.” You are my witnesses!

    Chiharu,

Is that you in that dress? You look very sexy there. I guess that the trips to the gym are paying off. You make me realize my own lax exercise routine. I have to get with the program too. Keep up the good work.
