headphones

You are here: Home / Blog / headphones

Ever since I heard Michael Jackson’s “Beat it” back in the 3rd grade I’ve enjoyed listening to music but it wasn’t until high school that I started listening to all genres. Regardless of what type of music I listen to when I want to hear the best sound I put on my Sennheiser headphones. They’re truly in a class of their own. I personally have the HD-580, HD-590 and HD-650 which are all open-air headphones. You’re probably wondering – what are open-air headphones?! I remember thinking the same thing when I was first introduced to them about 8 years ago. To keep things simple I will just say that they are the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever used as they put no pressure on my ear and the sound is so crystal clear. The sounds are so rich and dynamic it’s really hard to describe. They might not be cheap but they’re worth every penny. Unfortunately the 580 and 590 headphones have now been discontinued but you can still find them in certain stores and auction sites. For anyone interested in getting high quality headphones then I would recommend going for the HD-595 as they are the entry level audiophile headphones.

Please note that these are headphones to be used at home as they require power from an amp or computer. If you’re looking for ones for on the train or to be used with your Ipod I’d go with an inner-ear model such as the Shure E4C. In Yodobashi-Camera you can try many of the different headphones which is something I highly recommend doing if you are going to looking to really enhance your listening pleasure.

Happy shopping.

Adrian
