After a 6 weeks long break, SSE Katsura has opened its door again on June 2nd. I was really looking forward to being back at school with my students. To tell the truth, I just couldn’t wait to start coaching again.
And right from the first lesson, seeing my student in the classroom and talking in English together was delightful. The level of enthusiasm during all conversation classes was inspiring. Such a joyful reunion with everyone exceeded my already high expectations and I’m glad to be able to have this kind of relationship with my students. After all, I coach communicative confidence so building and nurturing a positive relationship between teacher and students is a part of my job.
I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that most students kept practicing English at least once a week by doing our weekly Smith’s One Point Lessons. It’s a productive and easy way to stay in touch with the English language. Many students brought their written examples for the last 6 weeks. Wow! So much English talk and practice based on students’ own work. You can read some of the latest student examples here. As you can see, it is a simple practice where we talk about something nice we are looking forward to. Personally, I enjoy these types of English conversations very much.
Overall, it has been a very positive start after a very long break and I could’t wish for anything better. So I can honestly say that it feels GREAT TO BE BACK!
