I think part of being good at any job is a willingness to “go the extra mile”. I try to apply this to everything I do because working hard is important in every aspect of life. You can’t be a successful English school owner if you don’t begin with a teacher who works hard for the students. Hard work has its own rewards. The harder I work for the students, the harder they tend to work for themselves in return. They improve their Toeic scores, do well on their English presentations at university, feel confident using English at work, or come back from vacations with exciting stories about how they used their English. For me, this is reward enough.

Carol,
I can’t agree more. The feeling that students show when they recognize that they are improving and becoming more able to really use English, is the most important reward you can ever receive. Keep up the good work!
