Well, another month has passed; I have now been the owner of Smith’s School of English, Kawanishi スミス英会話川西校 for 3 months, and I find myself in a reflective mood again. I have been thinking how easy I now find it to adapt lessons from most parts of the SSE curriculum to suit students of different levels. Again I think about my previous incarnation working at an English school that always “taught from the book”, which allowed little variation, and where week after week the lessons followed a predictable pattern.
Using the flexibility of the SSE curriculum allows me to vary the lessons greatly, making them musch more interesting for the students, and enjoyable for all of us. Something else I’ve noticed: when you get students really having fun using English, they often forget their shyness and their confidence in speaking increases.
It was just a quick thought, and a short post, but I thought it worth sharing.
