Creativity is something that can’t be taught but rather something that we either have, or don’t have. Creativity is also something that we all appreciate it when we see it, whether it’s in a new invention, a dance move or in a teaching method. At Smith’s 英会話 Hirakata we try to not only stick with what we know works but challenge ourselves to implement creative ways in which students are encouraged to speak. What works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another which is why Jerry, Yasuko and I get together regularly to discuss what works and what didn’t. We all learn from each other just as we learn from our students. I feel blessed to have met so many interesting people in my classroom and being able to be a part of their lives.
For those interested in checking out some creativity, take a look at this video which appeared on America’s Got Talent.
Enjoy.
