I love the Smith’s holidays and the freedom I have to take extra holidays as a Smith’s franchise school owner. The 2007 Smith’s holiday calendar contains 86 days off https://www.sse-franchise.com/calendar2007.shtml . I think that’s amazing. Smith’s is the front runner regards time off for privately owned schools. I can as a school owner control my schedule a great deal and have the freedom to go home whenever I want for as long as I want. Of course I use part timers to run my school, Smith’s Tsukaguchi School http://www.smithweb.co.jp/school/tsukaguchi.shtml in my absence. For example I will soon take a holiday outside the normal Smith’s holiday schedule to go back home to Canada for about 10 days. I will place a part-time teacher in my school to keep my business healthy and look after my students while I am visiting a friend and family back home. I love being able to do that.
Today was a Japanese national holiday. Japanese national holidays are Smith’s holidays too, so I had the day off to enjoy with my Japanese wife. We live near my school in Tsukaguchi, Amagasaki City . We decided to Okamoto, Kobe City, about 20 minutes away by train. Trains make getting around very easy in Japan. We enjoyed brunch at Starbucks Coffee in Okamoto http://vip.mapion.co.jp/c/f?uc=4&pg=1&grp=starbucks&ino=BA360484 then wandered around Okamoto. I showed my wife the location of Smith’s Okamoto School http://www.smithweb.co.jp/school/okamoto.shtml . It feels great seeing fellow Smith’s franchisees’ schools out there! It reminds me that I am part of a team and never alone https://www.sse-franchise.com/locations.shtml . I know the owner, Al Bartle. I very much enjoyed speaking to him and other Smith’s franchisees at the last Smith’s seminar https://www.sse-franchise.com/calendar_seminars2007.shtml . I thank Smith’s head office for all the holidays and the freedom to take extra holidays. It allows me more time to spend with loved ones and that is very important to me.
