Enjoying an Origami Lesson in Amagasaki

You are here: Home / Blog / Enjoying an Origami Lesson in Amagasaki

As I have mentioned here before in Celebrating the Tanabata (七夕) Star Festival in Amagasaki, I take Japanese lessons in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture. Last month, I was given the opportunity to have an origami lesson in the classroom where I take Japanese lessons. I only had about 10 minutes before I had to head back to my home in Tsukaguchi, Amagasaki then teach English at my English conversation school also in Tsukaguchi, Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi (スミス英会話 塚口校). Following the teacher’s step-by-step instructions, I made something which could be spinned and used as a toy by kids. Fun! (^.^) I thank the teacher for the quick lesson and the entire volunteer group for giving us the opportunity to study Japanese and experience Japanese culture in Amagasaki for a very low cost of 1,000 yen a month. We are very lucky.

Derek

Participating in traditional art forms is the best! Glad you had the chance and that you enjoyed it. You’ll have to make a spinner for us next time we see you.

Thanks, Edward. I would like to do that. Unfortunately, I can’t remember how to because I did it so quickly! 🙂 I may be able to make one myself by studying the one which I made following the teacher’s instructions.
