This week’s video is quite short- a :45 second clip from ABC’s Good Morning America, talking about a Japanese crew’s success in filming giant squid in their natural habitat for the first time. Very cool shots of the giant squid, which you will hear the announcer say can grow up to 50 feet and live in depths of more than 3000 feet below the ocean. Amazing that the cameras could penetrate such depths and capture such clear images. Japanese technology is some of the finest on the planet and this video is further proof of that, plus the crew’s incredible determination to capture such rare footage is very inspirational. Great job camera crew and divers!
As this clip is so short, I suggest watching it several times. Each time you will catch more and more and be able to better understand and thus enjoy it. You can also learn some new vocab from any and all videos, so get your pen and notebook ready. Some key vocabulary you will hear in this video: remarkable, habitat, creature, depths, captured, rethinking, dip, newscast. Good luck!
