“WOW” was the first thought I had when I watched this video for the first time. This Swiss guy, Ueli Steck, loves climbing and running and he wanted to combine the two, so he did. Then he wanted to challenge himself, so he went to the Himalayas for a few months to see how quickly he could climb some of the highest mountains in the world. Truly remarkable guy, amazing level of fitness and such a happy camper, even on the side of a snow-capped mountain with no tent. Documented and made into a three part series, the first showing his training before the climbs, the second showing his record climb of Mt Cholatse and the third about his climb of Mt Shishapangma. Amazing! I’ll put all three links below, or you can just find them on the sidebar.
Himalaya Speed Part 1: Training
Himalaya Speed Part 2: Cholatse
Himalaya Speed Part 3: Shishapangma
Not only would I love to be in such great shape, but I’d also love to travel there and do some climbing AND of course I’d love to have sponsors and time to do it. But alas, tis not to be for me… yet!
