This video has been popping up all over the place, so I checked it out and was both amazed and saddened. Saddened that child abuse is so prevalent in our society, but amazed by the innovation of this organization to help kids. This sign is designed to both send 2 separate messages: a message visible only to adults and another private and hidden message to children, who can then get help. Such a simple concept, yet brilliant. Let’s hope this group can make as many of these signs as possible.
The narrator explains that this campaign was started on International Day Against Child Abuse, and that Anar Foundation manages an anonymous help line for children. The technology used in the sign is called lenticular printing, the same technology used to create 3D images and so on. Brilliant use of this technology by the Anar Foundation will hopefully lead to increased awareness of this problem and increased support for children.
For students, this video is not too long and should be watched several times. The original sign is not in English, but English subtitles accompany the sign, so the video needs to be listened to and watched in order to get full understanding. Good luck!
