Did You Ever Get a Chance to See Flowers Like These?

You are here: Home / Blog / Did You Ever Get a Chance to See Flowers Like These?

I  just got home with my wife and son from a picnic under the flowers in Osaka Castle park.  We joined up with the other Smith’s Schools to have a big ‘Enjoy the Cherry Blossoms’ event.  Everyone was smiling and relaxing under the blossoms, talking happily and cheerfully with each other.  I was very happy to go to the event this year.

I had always missed it in other years but decided to make it a point to go this year and see how it was.  We were happily impressed.  The flowers were in full bloom:

We sure loved playing under the cherries as you can see:

It was lots of fun for all who went!  I will certainly do what I can next year to be more involved and help out with the planning.

I enjoyed myself, talking with students and teachers from other schools, joking and laughing like I haven’t done for quite a while.  My son Hugh also got a chance to play with kids who were there, including one of my students.  It was nice to see that this even certainly is a family friendly event and I want to encourage other families to come out in coming years to have a good time with us.

    Les,

It certainly was a fine day. Thanks for coming and bringing your family. It was well worth it to get up early in the morning and go to Osaka Jo to reserve the spot. We had a good turn out. I think it was over 80 people, so it was well worth it and the students got to use some English, participate in a scavenger hunt for prizes and sing English songs.
