There’s is a great family restaurant in Tsukaguchi, Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture not far from my English conversation school, Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi (スミス英会話 塚口校). It’s called COWBOY 家族 塚口店, or COWBOY Family Tsukaguchi Branch if all translated into English. It opened this spring where a Royal Host family restaurant used to be and is near my home in Tsukaguchi. The staff give great service and wear cowboy uniforms which is fun to see. Some tables have tableclothes with a red and white square pattern which looks like a tablecloth my mother used at my home in Canada when I was younger. The steak and hamburger (meat patty) are delicious and are served sizzling on a little pan. You can try both at the same time if you take a steak and hamburger combo meal that I like, which is served with some sauce, cooked vegetables and French fries on the side. This meal includes (like other meals) as much food as you like from a self-service salad bar and soft-ice-cream machine. The salad bar has not only vegetables but other things too like soup, spaghetti and fruits. The soft ice-cream is absolutely delicious and is not to be missed! If you’re like me, you’ll find yourself helping yourself to more than 1 cup, maybe 2 or 3! (^.^)
Since this family restaurant in Tsukaguchi opened, I have been to it 3 times, twice with my family only and once with my family and wife’s Japanese parents. Two of my students have mentioned going there when coming for English conversation lessons at my English conversation school in Tsukaguchi. Everybody liked it! I hope you will too if you go! Enjoy!
For those who can read Japanese, here’s the restaurant’s web site address: http://www.cowboy-family.jp

Whatever–steak or hamburger–is sitting atop that plate, it looks delicious! Thanks for the head’s-up….

Volks is a really good place for steaks. Cowboy also sounds nice.
