circumstances

You are here: Home / Blog / circumstances

Life is all about chances…many of us let circumstances control our feelings. We feel happy because things are going well. But when things take a turn for the worse, so do our emotions. Life is, and always has been, about us. We control how we feel. If we let circumstances effect us, they will.

These days we constantly hear about the economic situation that is gripping the world. While I know many people are concerned, there are still quite a few people that are excited. I consider myself part of the latter group. The key isn’t what’s happening out there but what’s happening in us. We can all choose to sit around and let things happen, or we can choose to make them happen.  Each day after I finish my work at Smith’s 英会話 Hirakata I head on home to spend some time with my wife and son. As I get home late I only get to see him for a short time before he’s off to bed. Then it’s TV time. My wife then goes to bed around 12 as she has to wake up early the next day. Then it’s my time, I usually study from 12 to 2 four or five nights a week. No, I’m not crazy…just want to prepare myself for the opportunities that are coming.

When I was young I wasn’t exactly the best student, in fact, both my parents and friends called me a “slacker.” I did just enough to get by so that I could spend my time hanging out with my friends or watching TV. I had a lot of fun, BUT I wasted so much time. I can’t get it back but as I’m still young I have the opportunity to right my wrongs.

I study business, magic, writing, teaching…whatever tickles my fancy. Tomorrow is a new day and each morning I want to wake up knowing that I’m growing as a person, a teacher and a businessman. That I gave it my all. I know that there will be times when I’ll fail but by improving myself I know that I’ll be able to handle bigger and better things.

We will have good times and bad but only we can determine how we’ll deal with them.

Adrian
