To celebrate the beginning of 2014 we decided to have a party at our Smith’s Katsura school(スミス英会話 桂).
It was a nice way to introduce some of our new students. As always, it was fun. I was pleased to see new students having a good time. We all had a good time together.
At our last party students enjoyed my fried potato pancakes and I was asked to make them again. Of course, I was happy to prepare the pancakes this time again.
Everybody brought something to the table: snacks, sweets and different kinds of drinks. We all agreed that the winner was an exotic meal from our student Toshiko. Mexican Chili Beans! Eating home cooked Mexican food at a party in Katsura(桂) was great. Mexican food is usually very hot and Toshiko made it less spicy so we could all enjoy the chili dish. Thank you for your great effort Toshiko, it was delicious.
There were many English conversation topics during the party. We talked about ‘Peace Boat’, popular TV dramas, our favourite books and student’s trip to Chicago. We talked and laughed a lot that night.
The event was a big success and I’m looking forward to 2014, having English conversation with my students every day.
