burn the floor

You are here: Home / Blog / burn the floor

Thanks to the help of both Jerry and Yasuko today I was able to take my wife out on a date to see Burn The Floor – truly a sensational event for all those dance lovers out there. Now while I am not a dancer (my wife more than makes us for my lack of skill) we are both big fans of SYTYCD and have been watched the show for about 6 years now. Fortunately 5 previous performers from SYTYCD were actually in this year’s Burn The Floor and it was great to see them doing what they love. There was so much to like about the performances that it’s hard to say which one I liked best but at one point one female dancer actually dances blindfolded – it was hot!!!

During the intermission both my wife and I decided to stretch our legs and while I was wandering around I ran into one Australian who seemed to be part of the organization that put on the show so I decided to say hello. We talked for about 10 minutes and then I asked him how long he had been with the company to which he responded, “Well, I’m the owner.” Yikes!! When my wife showed up I introduced her to him and we both thanked him for putting together such a fabulous show.

The icing on the cake came after the show had finished some of the dancers came out to take pictures with some of the lucky people who had gotten chosen (sadly it wasn’t us) but we did get to see three of the performers we had seen on TV and since they couldn’t speak Japanese and most of the people standing around there couldn’t speak English it was easy to catch their attention simply by speaking English.

I highly recommend the show to anyone who likes amazing performances.

I can’t wait to share some more of my experience with my students at Smith’s School Hirakata.

Adrian
