Now is a good time to take an autumn day trip. With the leaves changing colour you can really see the beauty of nature.
Two weeks ago I went to Metaria Keikoku. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable drive into the mountains. The day was sunny and warm. The air was fresh and clean. There was a really beautiful rest area on the way. It was a perfect place to stop and have lunch before continuing the trip.
When we finally arrived it was incredible. The leaves were so bright and colourful, the water was clear and clean. I could have sat there by the river all day enjoying the scenery, but eventually we started walking again. There were a couple of bridges. One of them was above two small waterfalls and surrounded by more, bright fall colours.
There were a lot of stairs to climb but it was worth it because they led to another place where you could sit. This time, it was at the top of one of the waterfalls. The other bridge we crossed was above another part of the river and had a great view from it as well.
One of the things that I loved was that although it was November it was not cold. I did not need to wear a hat. In Canada, we have the same fall colours, but it is not as warm. One of the reasons I love Japan and Kansai is that there is so much beauty to see and the weather is great.
