Well, a new year has arrived! Now is the time to decide what you want to change in your life, what you want to do differently, what new adventure you want to embark on, what new skill you want to acquire or what new business you want to start.
I have been working at this for about 4.5 years. I took over my school in 2006 and it has been and continues to be a lot of fun. Sure there have been hard times and disappointments along the way but I have learned not to let such temporary setbacks get me down. Smiith’s staff and the whole system have been very good and supportive all along the way.
I was just looking on the net at the new Tesla Sedan Model S Sedan. Wow! This is going to be a fantastic electric car. Zero to 96 kph in 5.6 seconds. Top speed of 195 kph and a range up to 480 km. Seating for seven. The picture of the car cruising down the road below is very exciting and it makes me think. We spend a lot of time thinking and talking about doing something. Somehow, New Years brings us a chance to do something to change our lives. I remember back to about the time I made my decision to quite my job in the states and come to Japan to operate an English school. I think it was around the first part of January 2006. It was a difficult decision but it has been worth it. I cannot think of any business or job in which you could meet and help more people to realize their dreams.
So, like the car below, the true test and your success can only happen if you make the decision and take action. In this day and age, if a small start-up like Tesla can challenge the big players and create such splendid vehicles, then I am sure that a person who is determined to succeed can do so; whether that be as a teacher or school owner or in any other kind of business. But like Tesla has recently found in the support of Toyota, it is important to find someone to support you along your way. I think that Smith’s Schools is a good choice for those who will put in the effort needed to succeed.

I am so happy that I joined the Smith’s School of English franchise system.
