As always, it was good to attend the seminar last Sunday. There are a few reasons I like to attend. First of all, it’s good to see other franchisees, some of whom we have met on previous occasions and some that we are meeting for the first time. Another great reason for going is to learn from other franchisees. I always learn something useful. This time, Chiharu from SSE-Otsu mentioned that when she does a comprehension check, she uses the information from one of the routines, but substitutes her own information. Then, she just asks questions from the routine. I think this is a great idea and I plan to use it next time I do a comprehension check.
The conferences also provide new information about what’s going on in the franchise, mixed with refreshers on information once known, but maybe just a little forgotten. What I discovered is that even franchisees who have been with the franchise as short a time as we have here at SSE-Kamishinjo can slip into bad habits without even realizing it. It was nice to be motivated to get back on track, as well as learn new tidbits on how to teach better AND how to be a better business owner. Everyone at the meeting got some new ideas on how to promote our businesses…and a new stag! Our short term achievable goal here at SSE-Smith’s Kamishinjo….order some of the new cards today and get out there and smile for two hours a week. Gotta go and order our cards!
