Teaching English in Japan to my wonderful students is great! I have such nice students at my English conversation school(英会話), Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi(スミス英会話塚口校) . It’s located in what is also my home, Tsukaguchi(塚口) in Amagasaki City(尼崎市), Hyogo Perfecture(兵庫県), Japan. Smith’s teachers from other Smith’s schools are also very nice and like me, have great students as I’ve seen at joint Smith’s events. Last week, Edward from Smith’s School of English Ohtsu(スミス英会話大津校) in Ohtsu, Shiga Prefecture came to Tsukaguchi to see my school. He wanted to see my school and I happily showed it to him. We compared what Smith’s flyers we were using for our schools and he gave me an idea in regards to outdoor signage. He liked the huge teddy bear that I keep at my school, which I call Max. He gave Max a hug. (^.^) Max was given to Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi by a former student and has been around longer than I have at Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi. You could say that Max has more seniority than me. (^.^) With students, I sometimes refer to Max jokingly. For example, if a student studies alone, I may say something like, “You’re alone today…except for Max, but don’t worry, he’s really quiet!” (^.^) Edward mentioned also having a teddy bear at his school and that he and his wife (Chiharu) keep the same sorts of drinks for students as I. Wow! Like me, Edward hails from Canada. We both like curry udon very much and had some for lunch near my school. You can see an earlier post of mine on curry udon by clicking here.
It was fun having Edward over at my school in Tsukaguchi. Thanks for your ideas and support Edward and thanks again for visiting my school!
