A Relaxing Smith’s Golden Week Holiday

You are here: Home / Blog / A Relaxing Smith’s Golden Week Holiday

The Smith’s Golden Week holiday is over and I’m back at work feeling refreshed at my English conversation school (英会話スクール), Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi School (スミス英会話 塚口交) . It’s great to be back at work, see my students’ faces again and hear what they’ve been up to since I last saw them.  I usually go abroad during this break but this year I stayed in Japan because my wife is pregnant and so flying a long time by airplane was out for her.  I didn’t mind and enjoyed my break here in Japan.

During the break my wife went to a few places not too far from home. We spent a nice day in Kobe’s  Kitano-chō (北野町), or Kitano Ijinkan (北野異人館). We had brunch at  Starbucks  Coffee (スターバックス) there, walked around and had tea and cake at a cute German cafe that we found.  The cafe had antiques and played classical music, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. We later had a nice course meal for dinner at a restaurant in Sannomiya. On another day we went to Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens (阪急西宮ガーデンズ), a big mall in Nishinomiya, where we enjoyed good food and a movie. We enjoyed some delicious shakes from the chocolatier Godiva outside in the sun. That was very relaxing and my dark chocolate shake was absolutely delicious!  I love Godiva (ゴディバ), which has the best chocolate that I know. On some other days we walked to a mall located in Tsukaguchi called Tsukashin (つかしん), where we had brunch and relaxed some more.

I also enjoyed doing some work during my holiday, including handing out some flyers for my school, writing a blog on this web site and putting together a video for Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi’s web site.  My wife and I bought some materials for me to build some signs to put up outside my school.

I look forward to seeing all of my students again! (^.^)
