A Recent One-Point Homework of Interest : I wish I could _____ because then I could _____

You are here: Home / Blog / A Recent One-Point Homework of Interest : I wish I could _____ because then I could _____

I am happy to report that many of the students at Smith’s School in Kotoen actively and diligently participate in the 1-Point homework every week.  Recently we had a popular one point using the present imaginary construct: “I wish I could ________ because then I could ________”.

I’ve noted the most interesting submissions received and am happy to share them with you here.  They go as follows:

“I wish I could speak English perfectly because then I could get a better job.”  Well, this is exactly what we expect to hear, isn’t it?  Perfect answer, and I’m sure many of you franchisees out there got at least one just like this.  That in itself is one of the beauties of our 1-point homework.

“I wish I could get an IELTS 7.0 score because then I could study fine arts in the UK”.  Not surprisingly, I’m teaching IELTS to this student and a couple of others, too.  This test is very comprehensive and difficult and the students are all taking it very seriously!  Wonderful.

“I wish I could get my son to try harder in school because then I wouldn’t have to pay for his juku lessons. I could send him to you to learn English instead.”  Now this is really interesting, submitted by a high green-level student.  This father clearly recognizes that we at Smith’s provide a service to people that juku cannot.

The 1-point homework is great fun and very useful for us as a group.  If you’re not using it diligently, I’d urge you to take another look at it.
