Well all jobs have their ups and downs. After having two fun students go out on a two month leave, I had a fun trial and got one new Man-to-Man student today. And on top of that I had a really fun lesson with two Red students. We covered the Past 4 lesson on what Frank has just done, already and not done yet. It is always fun to talk about whether the students think that the cat has been fed yet since it is sitting on the chair. Some say it has already been fed and some say it hasn’t yet been fed. These two students got it right away when I said its sitting on the chair! I had these students asking lots of questions about Frank and his interesting habits of not picking up his clothes, burning the toast starting but not finishing anything. They had a lot of fun with this and we finished with Routine 8 on shopping and both mastered the story and could recite it and ask questions from memory. At the end I just taught “Piece of Cake” as the One Point. One of the students is a mechanical engineer and she said she is looking forward to telling her boss when he asks her to make a mechanical drawing of a ship engine part that it’s a “piece of cake”. She’s the student who told me that Navigation systems and sound systems were “icing” in the trial lesson. She is so much fun to coach. She has a great sense of humor and a great mechanical mind. She gets the mechanics of things very very fast. The fun goes on at Smith’s Okamoto! LOL AL
