We are feeling a mixture of sadness and excitement here at SSE Kamishinjo as one of our students heads off to Australia for two years on a working holiday visa. We are selfishly sad to see her go because she is a special person who has attended all of our events and contributed to their success. She is always laughing and brings joy everywhere she goes. We are also so excited for her because we know that she is realizing her dream, and she’ll have a life changing experience. We wish her all the best and hope she has the time of her life..and learns lots of English!!!!
When she returns to Japan, she will move to Kyushuu to be closer to her family. She hopes to become an English teacher at a Kindergarten!!! We wish her the best in all of her future endevours!
What started out as a small good bye party turned into a Kamishinjo event because so many people wanted to wish her well. We went for Yaki Niku at a restaurant near Smith’s Kamishinjo school, then went out for Karaoke. At Karaoke, 90% of the songs were in English. I was so impressed with everyone’s effort! It was great fun, and a great way to say good-bye to someone who has been such a great student and friend.
Good luck!!
Carol,
Great post! I can really feel how happy and at the same time sad you are to see her go, but she is realizing her dream and you have been a very important part of that!
