Winner’s Bible follow up I

You are here: Home / Blog / Winner’s Bible follow up I
A Winning Book II
I wrote earlier about Dr Kerry Spackman’s book “The Winner’s Bible“.  In it, he directs you, the reader to make your own Winner’s Bible.  That is the key, he believes, to making lasting and even permanent change in your brain.  You see, lots of other authors tell you  this and that, and try this and that, but after you have done this and that once, you only feel a light refreshing change and before long you slip back into old routines and habits.  Slipping back into old routines and habits is well established and grounded
in the most up to date brain research.
To produce the lasting change Dr. Spackman suggests can only come from a lasting stimulus that keeps reinforcing those changes until they become permanent.  This happens with your own Winner’s Bible, which is
tailor made for you.  It is tailor made for you because it is made by you.  Making it takes time and lots of work.  I know because I am making my own right now, and it is not easy.  I also know some of the steps that I have to take and they look difficult.  But it is about me and for me, so it looks interesting.
Also, I have  been using my own Winner’s Bible so far, and it sure has put some spring back into my step (except for this nasty cold which I caught last week).  I am already feeling more motivation, and more purpose orientation.  My Winner’s Bible has some  of my own pictures, some other pictures I have chosen based on my drives and ambitions, and it also has words and descriptions in it. I spend about three to five minutes a day brousing through it, and sometimes doing what he calls ‘fixated visualization’ (see his book for more details).
I would love it if students here at Smith School of English Ikoma started to make a Learning English Winner’s Bible of their own!
I will write more about this as it comes up, but so far it is fun and interesting and seems to be working well for me!
