One of the great things about having a Smith’s English school (スミス英会話) in Tenjinbashisujirokuchome (天神橋筋六丁目) is that there are so many good restaurants nearby. Between Tenroku and Tenma station (天満) on the loop line (寛恕線) there is a big restaurant district. And, of course, in the Tenjinbashi shotengai (天神橋筋商店街)- the longest shotengai in Japan – there are many famous restaurants.
One of these restaurants is called Pao Pao (パオパオ, 宝包). It is a famous butaman(豚まん) shop in Osaka. A butaman is a small steamed bun with pork inside. The other day one of my students brought me some パオパオbutaman to try! They were delicious!
If you have never had real butaman, drop by パオパオ next time you are in Tenroku!
